Talk:History of the Armée de l'Air (1940-1945)

Hmm, the statement "Thus, the regiment became the only air combat group from a western European country to participate in the war on the Eastern Front" is wrong, since the UK had a figther wing in northern Russia, mainly to protect the shiping, from September to November 1941. Could we restructure this so that we have articles named something like

History of Armée de l'Air before World War II, History of Armée de l'Air during World War II, History of Armée de l'Air after World War II?

The article also needs a short, snappy introduction - something like "The Armée de l'Air was X, and is covered more thoroughly in (parent article). During the period 1940-1945 it (did things) and was (notable for)" etc. I came here via a link on the page about Field Marshall Wilhelm Keitel and I'm baffled. -Ashley Pomeroy 13:04, 17 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

The article is owershadowing the action of the french pilots in Britain during the War. Some of them fought during Battle of Britain, and in 1943 two squadrons were created : the No. 340 Île-de-France and No. 341 Alsace. A pilot like Pierre Clostermann made all his war service based in Britain. How can it be integrated in the present article ? 09:20, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
