The first paragraph seems to have been lifted verbatim from the 1918 Gray's Anatomy. Legally speaking this is fine since that edition is in the public domain. However, the wording does violate Wikipedia's conventions for lead sections: it should start with the title and answer the question "What is it?" in the first sentence (for example something like "The helicine arteries of the penis are arteries ..."). I attempted a rewrite myself but gave up and decided that a rewrite would be better done by an expert. Hairy Dude (talk) 01:06, 9 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
