Hi! I'll be reviewing this article for GA status, and should have the full review up shortly. Dana boomer (talk) 02:04, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

GA review (see here for criteria)
  1. It is reasonably well written.
    a (prose):   b (MoS):
    • In the Early life section it says his father is a "grazer"? I think that it means that his father owned animals that grazed (beef, sheep?), but could you please make this explicit?
    • In the First World War section, it says "Granted a period of leave to the United Kingdom during January 1918,[7] Towner received a special Mention in Despatches on 7 April 1918, the notification of which was published in a supplement to the London Gazette on 28 May 1918." Was he in the UK from January through April? Why was he mentioned if he was on leave in the UK? What is a "special" mention?
    • He was on leave just in January, and a "special" mention is basicly those who have been submitted and approved to be mentioned in the despatches of the C-in-C; most mentions are through this method. I have now cut the sentences in two, to avoid the confusion, and removed the "special". Abraham, B.S. (talk) 03:55, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
    • Victoria Cross section, "Comprising of four Vickers machine guns,[14] the section was attached to the right flank of the 24th Australian Infantry Battalion during the engagement, whose principal objective was to seize the summit of Mont St. Quentin." This sentence is awkward, especially in the way the third clause is connected to the second.
    • Later life section, "Following an essay written by a local youth in Towner's birth town of Blackall, enough money was raised by the community". What does an essay have to do with raising money?
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references):   b (citations to reliable sources):   c (OR):
    • References 4 & 7 should have Towner's last name decapitalized - reference titles should not be in all caps on WP even if they are in the original source.
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects):   b (focused):
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales):   b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:
There are a few prose issues and one minor referencing issue that need to be taken care of, so I am placing this review on hold. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments. Dana boomer (talk) 02:24, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the review. I think I have addressed all of the above. Cheers, Abraham, B.S. (talk) 03:55, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
