East Yorkshire or Yorkshire East?

edit

Is there a definitive reference for this renaming? Several external official-ish sites use the former name, which is apparently outdated? e.g.

The only place I've so far found using "Yorkshire East" is the BBC: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/politics/constituencies/E14000683

This wiki page itself still has at least 3 non-historical references to "East Yorkshire" (intro paragraph, two in the infobox), which should really be changed if this indeed an outdated name.

NB: I'm definitely not knowledgeable enough to claim that everyone else is right and this Wiki page is wrong - I can easily imagine confusion arising from systems/data not getting updated, people having the old name ingrained, etc - but given how widely the apparently-wrong name is in use, perhaps this Wiki page should be more explicit about things? — Preceding unsigned comment added by ErsatzCulture (talkcontribs) 18:01, 30 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
