Copyvio

edit

It seems this content may have been copied from elsewhere on the web: https://tools.wmflabs.org/copyvios/?lang=en&project=wikipedia&oldid=939734286&action=search&use_engine=1&use_links=1

However, I cannot find a date when the content on https://albanianstudies.weebly.com/daesitiates.html was created, it may well have been copied from wikipedia. Needs investigation... Cheers, Polyamorph (talk) 12:01, 8 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Polyamorph, Uuuuhm, I copied part of the text from List of Illyrian tribes, not that site. From the looks, it seems albanianstudies have copied the Wikipedia text, as you can see leftovers like [1] that may be a Wikipedia references. But, if we can't 100% prove it, I can rewrite it. I would ask for help for correcting prose if needed, as I am not a native speaker. Mhare (talk) 20:12, 8 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
Actually, I am not really sure now, you may be right, it may have been a long time copyvio from albanianstudies, but to the List of Illyrian tribes article, which I used as a base to expand the article. Mhare (talk) 20:16, 8 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
We need to know how old the content on the albanianstudies website is, then we can compare it to the wikipedia history to see what came first. But I'm not sure how to find out when the albanianstudies website was created. Cheers, Polyamorph (talk) 20:19, 8 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
According to whois information, creation date for that domain was in 2017-09-27 Mhare (talk) 22:04, 8 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
The content in List of Illyrian tribes seems to pre-date the creation date of that website, so I think it's safe to use. Another editor has already removed the copyvio templates. Cheers, Polyamorph (talk) 09:26, 9 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
