- CRITICISM - - The Central Board of Secondary has widely been criticised for unnecessarily pressurising students with a lot of examinations and homework and including a lot of portion for the Boards at the last minute. The suicide rate among CBSE students is extremely high.Around 6,000 suicides were reported in 2007 and this is just a small portion of the cases which went unreported. It is also widely criticised for being extremely exam oriented.Students are tested for their memory and speed and not knowledge.Recently a new system called'HOTS'or High order thinking skills has been introduced. This has greatly reduced the student's scope to score. After the introduction of "HOTS" ,the CBSE officials commented that if students still score 100% they would be better than teachers. The inclusion of 30% of Year 9's science portion for Year 10 and the inclusion 40% of Year 11's chemistry portion for year 12 has infuriated the students and the parents all the more. Many a times, the syllabus undergoes revision and students get their books very late into the year. They are put under great stress to cover the syllabus. For example: The Class 10 Social Studies syllabus is undergoing revision and hence it will consist of forty three bulging chapters and half a dozen books. - The students feel crushed by the pressure to perform as well as the increasing competition.

- The realization that high percentage students are more intelligent has lead to increased withdrawal from the schools following this system of education.

Copyediting

The article was just copied and pasted from the official website of CBSE. I have done some work trying to copyedit. It still needs work. Docku (talk) 00:17, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

CBSE is better for medicine and engineering, but the same cannot be same for pure sciences, social sciences, humanities, and literature.... ISC scores better somewhat and it is a hotly debated issue. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.227.156.156 (talk) 06:44, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

marks

Putting marks does n,t make a good article at all. Therefore the marks has been removed.--122.161.63.162 (talk) 14:37, 27 July 2009 (UT

I removed marks if you try to put marks again then i will block this article from editing. Marks are certainly not required, if you really try to improve this article.--122.162.16.141 (talk) 12:22, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

I am one of Wikipedia's many volunteer administrators. Anonymous editors do not have the power or authority to "block this article from editing"; however, I do.
To the IP editor above: you need to explain exactly what you mean and why you removed that material. If you do not discuss in more detail, in good faith, here on the talk page and remove it again you will be blocked from editing the article on a semi-permanent basis. You appear to be violating Wikipedia policies by removing it. Please explain your reasoning here. Georgewilliamherbert (talk) 23:05, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
I hate to muddy the waters, but the whole curriculum section seems to have been taken from here. It's possible that site actually took the content from here, of course, but given the history of copyright problems with this article it seems likely the other site is the original. That level of detail seems a bit much to be encyclopedic to me anyway, but I'm open to discussion on it. WeisheitSuchen (talk) 02:33, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
An anonIP in the same pool who usually edit this article asserted that the site took it from WP. No cite or other evidence, so we should err on the side of caution and not give appearance of copyvio unless we have clear evidence otherwise. DMacks (talk) 17:19, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

References list

The References list - 2 to 4 are straight ads and thus fall in category of spam —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.94.255.193 (talk) 14:48, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

The first two look like school pages, and the last appears to be a news article (a fluff news article, I'll grant, but it's from "Express News Service"). Why do you think they are spam? WeisheitSuchen (talk) 18:03, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Examinations - Update

The Central Board of Secondary Education has declared that Class X board examinations (AISSE) will stop taking place effective 2010. This has not been reflected in the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.242.55.30 (talk) 12:53, 4 March 2010 (UTC)

The recent grade rules as per the CBSE guidelines

Should I include the recent rules made by CBSE in the field of marks and grades or the topic isn't too important?--Soumit Banerjee (talk) 10:38, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

Add this link in the "External Links" section of Page Central Board of Secondary Education, it will help readers to know about CBSE 2013 Result declaration date and schedule.

Shashankrayal (talk) 12:26, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

Add this to the page CBSE, to provide correct information to readers and a site (cbseresultx.co.in) added in External Links, is a personal blog and this thing is out of Wikipedia Policies, so remove it.

Partially done. The link you refer to was removed. I did not add your proposed replacement. The official link seems sufficient. Thank you. Begoontalk 04:59, 24 May 2013 (UTC)

Not just in India

This article makes no mention of the fact that there are many overseas schools which are affiliated with the CBSE, most of them in Asia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.26.123.208 (talk) 06:56, 16 August 2014 (UTC)

As per norms, I am giving suggestions to edit this page rather than editing it myself, because this page is quite popular. My suggestions are listed below and if no issues arise, then may be taken action at, and accordingly. If no action is taken soon, I will edit it myself.

  1. CBSE results website is NOT cbseresultx.co.in (It is a private website, not official) , it is cbseresults.nic.in (official site) . It may be urgently changed.
  2. Image of CBSE main building may be uploaded on this page. Red Pen (talk) 12:53, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
  3. If the Regional Offices of CBSE are NOT already given according to some order( Chronologically, authority-wise, in order of importance, in order of number of schools covered, etc.), Then they may be placed alphabetically. ( to improve organization ) Red Pen (talk) 12:58, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
  4. Examinations section be renamed to "Examinations conducted" Red Pen (talk) 13:11, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
  5. Examinations section be reorganized to separate information about different entrance exams and board exams. Red Pen (talk) 13:11, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
