"The industrialist turned banker[who?] could assist his own industry since he not only provided a local means of payment, but also accepted deposits. Here we have a parallel with the early goldsmith banking."

This is not fitting with the tone of the article and doesn't make sense. Another user has added the [who?] comment. Perhaps it should be removed unless anyone can figure out who it is referring to.
