I was in TQ during the Iraqi freedom campaign, serving in the USMC. 2005 compared to Present day 2020, are completely different. Wikipedia says the air strip is operated by the Iraqi military currently. I was just curious of whatever became of a place I once called home. Unsuccessfully, I tried to find the spot where my tent was. I failed to do so because Of the difficulty to find a point of reference. I really couldnt find any trace of the camp let alone my tent. Everything Structural was gone. Google earth images look as if the place was abandoned, and very desolate. Just wondering how this came to be.
