Wikipedia is not a news website, not is it a memorial website.

edit

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, it is not a news website, but to write about the news, consider contributing to Wikinews. But to be sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia, events like this need to have on-going long term, not simply be a routine news report of a single event in an ongoing civil war. Please demonstrate and explain in the article the significance of this event in the context of other related events in the country around this time. The article mentions that the bombing was in retaliation for the shooting of enemy combatants, and also mentions an ambush, are these one and the same thing or different? So, is this an example of brutal suppression of resistance within the population in the time of war or military forces out of control? If so, the article should have some form of analysis about why this is notable. Also, Wikipedia is not a memorial website, and I wonder why there is a list of names of low profile individuals who's only claim to fame appears to result from being killed by this event. Is there any specific reason for listing all their names, other than they are now deceased? - Cameron Dewe (talk) 02:31, 23 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
