[1] refers to a match in 1775: "The earliest initial record found is of a fixture between New Alresford and Bishops Waltham at Stephens Castle Green held on the 28th August, 1775. According to the Hampshire Observer, New Alresford beat Bishop's Waltham with two given men by nine wickets." JH 21:10, 25 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Narrative

edit

One may have no doubt that the information in this article, and others like it, is accurate and can be sourced to the references started but it is essentially a statistical summary. Surely the article should present the reader with a narrative description of the season? One would hope for revision at some point. Though presumably compliant when written several years ago it now seems anachronistic, which is a shame. --Jim Hardie (talk) 19:38, 18 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
