Matt Arthur is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who plays as a hooker for the Parramatta Eels in the National Rugby League (NRL). He is the son of NRL coach Brad Arthur and brother of Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles player Jake Arthur.

Background

Arthur attended Patrician Brothers Blacktown. Arthur came through the grades at Parramatta in Harold Matthews and SG Ball, being a part of the 2023 SG Ball winning team.

Playing career

In 2024, Arthur started the year as starting Hooker for Parramatta in NSW Cup. He was selected and named co-captain of the NSW under 19s Origin team, scoring a try in the match.[2]

On June 29, Round 17 2024, Arthur made his NRL debut for Parramatta against the Newcastle Knights in a 34–26 loss at McDonald Jones Stadium.[citation needed]
