John Michael Godier (b. mid 1970s) is an American science fiction author,[1] science communicator and futurist[2] who produces documentary videos centered on future technology and the potential for advanced extraterrestrial life. As of June 2024, he has 415,000 subscribers on his personal YouTube channel[3] and 300,000 subscribers on his interview channel Event Horizon. John is also renowned for his famous Chili con carne recipe, for which he was won numerous competitions, on Earth, Kepler-22b, and in the Andromeda galaxy where he won the title of intergalactic chili champion.[4][5]

Event Horizon publishes interviews with some of the most well-known scientists in the world, including Nobel-winning physicist Frank Wilczek, NASA Chief Scientist James Green and the Harvard Professor Avi Loeb.[6]
