The Second Saud-Rashidi War lasted from 1915-1918 and was fought between the British Aligned Nejd and Hasa and The Ottoman Ally of Jabal Shammar.
Background
editfollowing the Saud Rashidi War The Emirate of Nejd and Hasa. gained all the territory South of the Qassim region in Modern day Saudi Arabia. following this period Nejd and Jabal Shammar were both Ottoman Aligned puppets. In 1913 Nejd Conquered the Territory of Al Hasa from the Ottoman Empire.
WW1 prior to Nejd's Involvement
editIn 1914 Nejd met up with Kuwait and Jabal Shammar following the start of WW1. The purpose of this meeting was to create an agreement in which all three of them wouldn't take sides in the war.This plan fell through as Kuwait sided with The Entente and Jabal Shammar sided with The ottomans.
Negotiations
editWilliam Shakespear was a Military advisor for Ibn Saud and the British's contact to The Emirate of Nejd and Hasa. following the start of WW1 Britain was attempting to get Nejd to join the war on the side of the entente. The Ottomans attempted to do the same by also opening negotiations for an alliance. The British wanted Nejd on their side as a counter against Jabal Shammar whos raids threatened the British in their Mesopotamian Campaign. during these negotiations both Ibn Saud and Al Rashid encountered each other in a territorial battle.
The Battle of Jarrab
editIbn Saud and Al Rashid both encountered each other in the Battle of Jarrab. Ibn Saud Calvary won against Al Rashid Calvary, but Al Rashid infantry won against Ibn Saud infantry. This was due to the Ajman forces betraying Ibn Saud, Following the battle the Sacked his camp and begun the Ajman revolt. the main event that happened during the battle was the death of William Shakespear who died in action. His death had an Impact on the British's trust In Ibn Saud and changed the Course of the Arab Revolt.
The Treaty of Darin
editThe treaty of Darin was a treaty between the Emirate of Nejd and Hasa and The United Kingdom. This treaty the creation of a formal territorial boundary for Nejd and Hasa and the British agreed to give money and weapons in exchange for Emirate of Nejd and Hasa agreeing not to attack any of The United Kingdoms allies and puppets. Most importantly The treaty of Darin made Nejd and Hasa declare war on Jabal Shammar.
